Prashant Kishore:- Chankya to Chandragupt .

My article is based on the recent interview of Mr Prashant Kishore. He gave it to Mr. Karan Thapar on The Wire which telecasted on 18th April 2020. Basically this interview was  based on Prashant Kishore career so far. 

Prashant Kishore is a political Strategist. He came into contact of Narendra Modi in year 2011. He was working on the malnutrition for Gujrat government. After that he worked on 2012 Gujrat election. After that 2014 General election campaign is a huge success in his life. He worked for many people like Captain Singh in Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, Jagmonhan in Andhra Pradesh and Nitish Kumar in Bihar. He tested his first failure in 2017 UP Assembly election.

Mr. Karan Thapar always tries to make his guests comfortable with uncomfortable questions in the start only. This had made the guest to leave the interview in the past. 

In opening question Mr. Thapar asked Mr Prashant Kishore about teaming with Narendra Modi and relationship between them. Mr. Kishore answered he joined Mr. Modi to work on malnutrition. After some time Mr. Modi recognised his sense of political knowledge and he is grateful to him. 

In upcoming question Mr. Thapar asked him about Modi’s weak and strong point. He said that Mr. Modi can be benevolence. He also told him that he had contributed a very small part in Narendra Modi success. He further added Mr. Modi has 45 years of experience in organisational set up and knows very well about grassroot level. The ignored fact about Mr. Modi is that he has vast experience in organisational set up and administration. 

Moving ahead to next question was on working with different political parties. He replied he thinks like a voter. It means if he has to vote on in any state to whom he will vote for them he work. Eg. In West Bengal he will be having four options like TMC, Left, BJP and Congress so he will go for TMC. He also told that he said no to many people or party wanted to work with him. He also mentioned in the last part of answer that no one can hire him. 

He answered on his political ideology very nicely when asked by Mr. Thapar. He said to him that he believes on what father of nation Mahatma Gandhi said that Right action is the best politics. He added there is no such things like ideology in politics. Meanwhile political parties are flexible on ideology for their benefit but want voters to be loyal to their ideology. This is why voters are not loyal to party.

Answer on 2017 UP election was very technical in term. He said that for any successful campaign we need 4M. Here 4M stands for Messenger Message Missionary and Mechanics. There in UP he failed to get a good messenger.

Last but not least about his future. He said that he is not in hurry. He will reach to grassroots level. From there he will educate himself and build a good preposition or organisation. He will be residing in Bihar only. He may fight assembly elections. 

Let’s see how much time Mr. Kishore will take to become Chandragupt from Chankya.
